Good morning, Meera. Just finished your latest post on email. I was especially move by it as I continue to grieve the loss of my beautiful Stephanie six years ago, when, at 46, she died in her sleep, unexpectedly, and was found by her eleven tear old daughter, Sadie Rae. The shadow of this horror is always lurking in the back of my mind; the fallout has been catastrophic.
I loved the analogy of trees/people. Most of my family has splintered... I’m realizing that Steph was that last piece of the puzzle that’s been lost forever. I had thought the opposite, that we would all hold on tighter, but the opposite occurred. Only recently have I begun to understand the depth of her role in my family. The greatest loss imaginable was that of Steph; apparently there was more to come.
